Intentionally handcrafted in the Sanctuary of Stones studio, Anima Antiqua, Latin for Ancient Soul, is a talisman of alchemized time. Each ancient Roman glass bead has been weathered by centuries of wind, sand, and sunlight, and carries within it the memory of an empire. Hand-sourced from the sands of the Sahara desert and the trade routes of the Silk Road, these glass pieces were once adornments in daily life that have metamorphosed over nearly two millennia into beautiful iridescent relics.

This talisman combines these relics with two living stones: Chrysocolla, the ocean-green stone of creative expression and sacred communication that is traditionally associated with Thoth and the voice of wisdom; and Chrome Diopside, the deep green mineral of Earth’s vital intelligence symbolizes renewal and the heart’s living pulse. Together, they form a continuum, with ancient glass holding and emitting the memory of ancient civilizations and the verdant stones holding and emitting the energy of the renewal of life itself.

The asymmetrical geometry of the Roman glass beads is balanced by the smooth, rounded forms of chrysocolla and diopside, creating a dialogue between ancient history and modern artistry.
